On April 25th, CloudSEK proudly hosted 140 students from Alliance University for an industrial visit, organized in collaboration with FacePrep. This event highlighted CloudSEK’s commitment to nurturing the next generation of cybersecurity professionals and fostering a safer digital community.

The students engaged in meaningful interactions with CloudSEK team members, particularly from the Threat Research division. Two key speakers-Varun Ajmera from the Threat Research team and Ihita Gangavarapu from the Strategy team- shared their expertise and guided the students through a series of compelling real-world case studies. These sessions were designed not only to inform but also to inspire critical thinking and spark career curiosity within the cybersecurity space.

During the training, students were introduced to a wide array of essential cybersecurity domains:

  • External Threat Monitoring: Students learned how organizations proactively detect and assess threats originating outside their network boundaries.
  • Digital Risk Protection: The session highlighted how businesses can safeguard their digital assets, including brand reputation, against impersonation and phishing campaigns.
  • Attack Surface Management: The students explored how to identify and reduce potential vulnerabilities across digital infrastructure before they can be exploited.
  • Software Supply Chain Security: This covered real-life examples of supply chain attacks and how organizations can secure third-party software integrations.
  • Threat Actor Profiling: The sessions included insights into common attacker behaviors, motivations, and tactics, helping students understand how intelligence is gathered and used to strengthen defenses.
  • Recent High-Impact Cyber Attacks: Through case studies, students reviewed recent cyber incidents across industries, learning about attack vectors, impact assessments, and mitigation strategies.

The awareness sessions emphasized a proactive and intelligence-driven approach to cybersecurity, underscoring how strategic monitoring and early threat detection are crucial for defending modern enterprises.

In addition to technical concepts, there was also a discussion on the skills and competencies required to succeed in the cybersecurity field—ranging from analytical thinking and problem-solving to curiosity, collaboration, and continuous learning—helping students align their academic journey with real-world expectations.

Overall, the visit was a resounding success, reflecting CloudSEK’s mission to uplift the community and make cyberspace safer for everyone. CloudSEK looks forward to hosting more such initiatives that connect education with industry insight and empower future cybersecurity leaders.
